DIY canvas art / makeover

Assalamualaykum everyone!

We have been doing some art this week and they were mainly reusing canvases and painting on cardboard. The pictures on the canvases weren't pretty because we drew them when we were very small, so we decided to re - draw over them and turn them into something better!

Now, with that being said, let's get started!

We made a lot of art using cardboard, the main colour theme was green because it matches our living room.

This is the first picture we made together, it was so easy and fast, we simply taped random shapes using duct tape and water colored all the white spaces of the cardboard.

Khadijah made this beautiful cardboard canvas, we really love the compound leaves!

Hanah made this one, it consists of water colored feathers from our chickens and a pastel watercolor background. She also wrote some attributes that are found in our house.

Both of us made this simple art, using a brush we created splatters with different shades of green.

For the second art, we used this old canvas art Hanah did when she was small.

Since the rainbow she drew happens to be very bumpy, we carefully peeled it of making sure not to damage the canvas.

We then pasted white paper over the canvas and water colored it, after it was completely dried we drew a Dua on it.

We also made 4 mini cardboard canvases that was green themed again.

Hanah made this one.

Khadijah made this.

Again, she also made this.

And Hanah drew this.

We also wanted to include this canvas makeover we did months ago....
The picture looked really ugly so we re - painted it and we think it looks much better!

We made these mini art using clear CD cases.

We hope you enjoyed today's post and it inspired you to do some art like this.
We will see you next time.

Wassalam.

  2. Assalaamu alaykum! I love it when people reuse their items and turn them into something new mashaAllah, which is what you've done here. Such lovely, well thought-out artwork with equally lovely quotes. They look very nice on your wall! Love the chicken feathers in the corners of the canvas, a very special touch because I know how much you love and miss your chickens. The girls also have old feathers from their long gone chickens, they have a long feather from the tail of our rooster which they hold dear to their hearts. These little touches around the home is what makes a house a home. - Umm Hanifah xx
