Who broke the record of World Land Speed?

Juan Manuel Fangio (24 June 1911 - 17 July 1995) was regarded by many as one of the greatest F1 drivers of all time achieving many records that are unlikely to be ever beaten. In 1938, he entered his first-ever national event which was competing in a Ford V8, furthermore, he competed with a Chevrolet winning the Grand Prix International Championship in 1940 and competing in Europe in the late 1940s.
