Ombre painted canvas art

Image
Assalamualykum everyone, It's Hanah here...                                               We are a big fan of ombre, whether it be in art, digital art, painting or even in hair! It is very pleasant to see the blending of one color gradually changing into another, this time we decided to try something that we've never tried before, we decided to paint a simple ombre pattern on a canvas and drew a silhoutte over the art to add an extra touch up! First of all, I gave Khadijah to paint the most important part ; she carefully blended the colours creating a lovely background. The blank canvas The moist paint drying After everything was completely dried, I drew over the background a simple palm tree silhouette and  coloured them to be navy blue as it would contrast better. It looks lovely in our sitting area Alhamdulillah

Fish poem

Photo by Sadiq Nafee on Unsplash Assalamualykum everyone, Khadijah here, Alhamdulillah we have two fish tanks and each of them have lovely fish that are all named, I decided to share a poem I wrote quite a time ago when we were facing electricity cuts due to the current economic crisis of our country, Alhammdulilah we've found a solution now, but I think this poem will be relatable for other fish owners here. Our fish We absolutely love our fish, having them was previously our dream wish, Thankfully we got four, one died so we got ten more. We love all ten so much, but they are going through a lot and we don't want them to experience such. There is a major issue, nothing will do except wipe our tears with tissues, There are too many electricity cuts which cause them to severely lack oxygen, "they will die soon..." fish experts say, So we have hearts of melancholy all day. Oh, Allah please help us get a solution, For our ten little swimming children.  - Khadijah Dilsh

Tiny wood creature

Image
Photo by Kiran CK on Unsplash The pot was pulled across the verandah, scrapping its floor which made me feel sudden guilt and consciousness. I tried to wipe the scratch marks with my hand and then a large piece of clothing, but nothing helped so I took my eyes off and walked away to do my other work, but something stopped me from walking away. I felt the discomfort of a slightly sharp tiny detailed piece of dark coloured wood that had light severity in pain when stepped on, basically not noticeable to how light its sharpness effected. I bent and picked it up, wondering how a wood particle would come to the verandah as nothing around was wood, however, it didn't take much notice as it wasn't something to even think about when it's so atomic, but it took my notice highly when it seemed to sort of move a bit, I shook it slightly, as if it were to have life it would've moved but... it didn't, just wobbled and behaved just like a shy piece of wood would do, "no fan

Black Beetle

Image
free - verse beetle poem inspired by 'Baby tortoise' by D.H Lawrence   Tiny black beetle, you move so gently, gripping the surface with your slightly bent curves of your six legs,  wobbling slightly, chubby soot-black beetle... your abdomen shacking...your furry legs take you on voyages, through the mossy surfaces that clog your legs a little... hard roots, making you bob up and down. you're crouched back, and lowered head with lovely antennas of separated orange-coloured sections of three, so detailed... Dark, smooth chocolate. Innocent, bottom furry one... your body sliced smoothly into three, largest to smallest,  oh so gentle, tiny black beetle.
