Childhood memories

I was told to do a school project, that was two pages long, it had to be a childhood memory of school from the narrator or from a friend or a movie clip moment that was an unforgettable experience, either the first day to a new school or just an experience that had strong emotions involved, such as sadness or anger or any deep emotions. Seriousness was not to be mixed with comical statemens and moments because it ruins the 'flavour' of the story . It had to be extremely exaggerated and explained more in detail, but not complicated to read. It also had to have direct speech in the story.  I chose a story based on myself when I was very small, around four years old, an experience that I always remember and laugh to my self. It is comical not serious, but the emotions involved in it is kind of 'strong'. Here you can read it now :🤗 - in a moment of  frustration, not given enough attention for a science project, wanting to label or spell out items,as my past favorite activit

Sri Lankan elephants face life threats due to human activities

Image
Dear Supporter The main causes of animal extinction are due to human activities and populated lands. Today the Sri Lankan elephant has been listed as endangered by the IUCN, International Union for Conservation of Nature. Sri Lanka has the highest population of wild Asian elephants worldwide, relatively native to Sri Lanka. The complication of elephant extinction would create a major unstable effect on the Island, causing unbalanced natural ecosystems which result in many other animals' death due to the effect of it. The elephant species have declined in numbers because of human-elephant conflicts causing numerous deaths, injuries, and outrages. The natural environments of elephants are cut down and destroyed for purposes like agriculture, infrastructure, and urbanization which have led elephants to move into agricultural lands feeding on crops and vegetation. This causes a great infuriation for farmers as they rely on income through vegetation, fruits, and many crops. Farmers and

3 DIY crafts

Asssalamualykum everyone!                   Well...three crafts to show you all and explain how we did them, not a 'DIY' tutorial, but anyway, who cares, Lol. They could be made as decor for any boring or dull place, you'll see how they'll make it look engaging and super creative! let's jump right into the post! Firstly, I have the worst camera, so the pictures look 100 times nicer in real life. :( 1. This one was originally H 's idea, but we made it together. It is a cement vase-like pen holder made by our aunt, we turned it on the other side to make the quirky yet kawaii décor piece! The polymer clay charms on the head of the thingy are all made by our talented cousin, so a huge thank you to her for gifting it to us generously! she's saying hi! Who won't let the little beings say hi too! 2. Again this was Hanah's idea, but I made it this time. The bowl-like thing of the creature named 'co

When I grow up...

Image
When I grow up... When I grow up, I'd wanna be a mother, Nothing to say I'd be rather. Just to be that forever, A decision nothing but cleaver. Changing those nappies, Will surely make me happy. And when the years go by, When I'm fed up with those horrible cries, When my child is all grown up, She'll be ready to give me a big hug, For that which I've done, For simply being a lovely mum.

Crickets

Image
Crickets. Crickets silent, crickets chirp on. Crickets chirpy sound on. So familiar, because I've heard it since I was born. O, now it's mute, What can I say about them? They are or ugly nor cute. Nor pretty as a sparkly gem. They are simply familiar, but not as a grasshopper. I remember not knowing what they were. So I screamed hitting it with a mopper. Thinking back,  I'm not sure whether I've known crickets since I was born.                                           Because then I wouldn't have hit it- oh smack.                                 But, yes but. I do remember the familiarity as it walked past my lorn.                                                                                                                                  Maybe......                                                                             Yes, Maybe...                                                I should let a cricket be with me.

A Math Sum

Image
Head leaning on knees,  hand-dying for rescue,  eyes blinking in confusion. Pen shaking, Mind recking. Brain quivering Trembling. Confusion with blurriness. ... Once the brain rolls from the stairs, O, yes! Studying from where? Upstairs! Just let me know who even cares? Neuron breaking into bits from that mind-boggling sight, it breaks from all those hits. The room was bright, Yes, it was, yes, it has, from all what? A math sum. - Khadijah Dilshad

The Endless steppe

Image
I was told to continue an extract from the story the endless steppe, by Esther Hautzig , here's how it went. The following day, in the morning before sunrise, I woke up with a blood-curdling dream. Heart pounding. I sat for a while thinking of the moments of horror in my dream when suddenly I remembered yesterday's school day. I sighed to myself, trying to recall what I planned the night before. "This time, I'm not going to be a poor victim again," I told myself while getting off my sleeping mat. I had believed in myself, I am strong. Three giants that had been daunting me all night would not be able to do so by this very day. I ate my oats and in a jiff, I took my academic possessions and quickly picked a couple of berries around 5, and a handful of apricots and cherries and wrapped it in a small cloth bundle, and headed to school. While walking on the frosty roads, I was reminding my self the Russian alphabet, repeating it time by time. I noticed the more I re
