Fostering A Paralyzed Squirrel

Image
Assalamualykum everyone! It's Khadijah here. It was quite long ago when this event happened as we consistently postponed sharing the story with you all, however, it's never too late as we find it so special in our hearts!  It all started when my sister went with our ummi and grandmother to visit our cousins, I stayed home as there wasn't enough space to accommodate me. I gave my sister the chance to go even though we both wanted to meet our cousins.  After everyone left, I was studying for a long time until around afternoon time I heard the gate opening; as I went downstairs my sister came running up to me in an abnormal jovial mood, to my surprise she had brought a … squirrel! I was more than delighted - we both immediately ran up and put the pot in which the squirrel was in (it was closed) in our room and then my sister told me the story behind bringing the animal home. Turns out this squirrel was caught and injured by our cousin's cat - Alex - and had been paralyzed...

Fish poem

Image
Photo by Sadiq Nafee on Unsplash Assalamualykum everyone, Khadijah here, Alhamdulillah we have two fish tanks and each of them have lovely fish that are all named, I decided to share a poem I wrote quite a time ago when we were facing electricity cuts due to the current economic crisis of our country, Alhammdulilah we've found a solution now, but I think this poem will be relatable for other fish owners here. Our fish We absolutely love our fish, having them was previously our dream wish, Thankfully we got four, one died so we got ten more. We love all ten so much, but they are going through a lot and we don't want them to experience such. There is a major issue, nothing will do except wipe our tears with tissues, There are too many electricity cuts which cause them to severely lack oxygen, "they will die soon..." fish experts say, So we have hearts of melancholy all day. Oh, Allah please help us get a solution, For our ten little swimming children.  - Khadijah Dilsh...

Black Beetle

Image
free - verse beetle poem inspired by 'Baby tortoise' by D.H Lawrence   Tiny black beetle, you move so gently, gripping the surface with your slightly bent curves of your six legs,  wobbling slightly, chubby soot-black beetle... your abdomen shacking...your furry legs take you on voyages, through the mossy surfaces that clog your legs a little... hard roots, making you bob up and down. you're crouched back, and lowered head with lovely antennas of separated orange-coloured sections of three, so detailed... Dark, smooth chocolate. Innocent, bottom furry one... your body sliced smoothly into three, largest to smallest,  oh so gentle, tiny black beetle.

Illustrating a proverb - There is no place like home.

Image
A story that explains a proverb is a kind of fable, which means a story with a moral, or lesson to be learned.                     There is no place like home                      One is most comfortable in one's own surroundings . Koco is from Australia, she had to relocate due to the Australian bush fires; here's her short story on how she found home back again.                                         Every one didn't like  Koco , nobody liked to befriend her, or talk to her, she just wasn't the right animal to be with. Koco was a strange creature, the only one in this whole reserve - nobody had ever seen a creature like her, and so they considered her extremely unusual. Koco was new to this habitat, she had left her habitat due to fires and so she found this ne...

The Race

!هلا معكم هناء It's Hanah here. Well.....I didn't write on this blog for quite a time.... anyway today I'll be sharing with you a poem I composed as a project for school. Basically, I've gotta write a 'rhythmic poem', It has to be something that has a strong and distinctive sound or movement. I chose to write about a horse and here's my poem : THE RACE The dusty streets. Everybody's ready, Awaiting in an open field, Horses all lined up, focused through; A feeling of frisson creeping, am I steady? The starting barrier opens out Everybody's screaming! Am I focused In such a tumult? Tabdak...tabdak, trotting and plodding. Cantering, galloping, and advancing! Faster and faster, much challenging. Speeding,                                          and scudding.....phew! Prancing and hurrying...                 Hurtling straight throu...

Assalamualykum everyone! Since we've not posted about our chickens for a very long time, in this post we'll be sharing with you some news about them. We'll be sharing you our trip to the farm which we went 2 weeks ago, If you have viewed  this post  you'll notice that we sent our chicken to a farm. Alhamdulillah, we have gone to the farm many, many times but this time was a bit more fun and we decided to share with you the news about our chickens and how they are! So.. let's begin the journey! We thought that our chickens would miss us tremendously when they were at the farm, however, things didn't go as we thought!  Snowy,Custurd, and Chick - Chick didn't come when we called them, they were all so happy that they didn't even notice us when we offered them food!    Snowy, our best hen from the three was not friendly at all! She wouldn't come near us when we offered her food, she didn't allow us to carry her as she screamed and shouted aw...

Free in a Farm!

Image
Assalamualykum, We have some sad news....... We decided to free our chickens in an open wide farm with many chickens like them due to space constraints. Although the run was enough space for three chickens; living in an unrestricted free farm would always be better for any animal! though we are extremely sad and miss them terribly, it's all for the better :( We cannot stop but think of them every day! It's hard living without them...... But no worries... Every week we hope to visit them and stay with them for some time Inshallah! The owner of the farm was Chick - Chick's original master, Chick - Chick must be very happy to introduce his two lovely wives to all the other chickens he knows! On the first day we sent the chickens we decided to visit them with some treats they love! We were not able to take many pictures of them on the farm but here are a few : At first, we only spotted Snowy and Custurd in the flock. Chick - chick was missing, and we were told ...
