Brighten up your living room with scrap materials!

 Assalamualykum everyone!

After breaking a coconut and extracting its pulp, are you the person who throws the shell away?

After buying a cake, do you throw its cake board away?

When you buy/get something that looks boring, do you leave it how it is?

Well... in this post we present to you some awesome ways of up-cycling materials you might come across in your everyday life as well as some simple ways how we brightened up boring ornamental objects.

2. Up-cycling coconut shells

These coconut shells were painted and sand was filled inside them, we then decorated them with faux flowers and placed them on our coffee table.

2. Recycling cake boards

Now whenever you buy those lavish cakes, don't you ever pause to think before you toss those boards into the paper bin? We did, and that is how we came up with this idea to recycle them.

You can decorate them with whatever you have, we took these gorgeous dried leaves from Khadijah's plants and proudly pasted them onto the board, applied a layer of glitter and bordered them with gold tape.

3. Adding tiny gold touches to our ornaments

These were antique / simple ornaments we had in our living room, we added a few designs and strokes of metallic gold paint to give them life!

4. Up cycle glass cuttings

After finding leftover pieces of glass from a window and sticking them together with the idea of making a fish tank, it started leaking and we were left disappointed. To appreciate our attempt, we turned the fish tank upside - down, covered it with an attractive fabric and used it as a stool to display our ornaments.

It looks disgusting despite how many times we washed it.

Added some decor and a fabric on top :

A chain of beads brightened it even more,

5. See the beauty beyond dried leaves

Using a few table mats and dried leaves, we crafted this lovely wall decor.

A few gold touches...

This was the end of this post, we really hope you got some inspiration from it!
InshaAllaah we will see you in another post,

Wassalam
