" (The sonic boom produced by ThrustSSC) was so powerful that 10 miles of the end of the track, the local town of Gerlach was experiencing what they thought were earthquakes" - Andy Green OBE

After attempting the record, he was promoted to Squadron Leader and was made Wing Commander in 2003.

In 2006 he piloted JCB DIESELMAX - the fastest diesel car, reaching an amazing speed of 328.767 mph, breaking the diesel land speed record.
